Read the New York State Housing and Anti-Discrimination NoticeOfficial notice published by the New York Department of State (PDF).
New York State and New York City law prohibit housing discrimination. Under the State notice, protected characteristics include race, creed, color, national origin, citizenship or immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, military status, sex, age, disability, marital status, status as a victim of domestic violence, lawful source of income (for example, housing vouchers), and familial status. New York City law provides additional protections. The official notice explains your rights and where to file a complaint.
Every apartment on this site is available to all qualified applicants without regard to these characteristics. Listings describe the property, not who should live there.
